Winter, The Beginning of a New Year

Trying to Do Business, When Life Keeps Getting in the Way

If I wasn't such a control freak, we could have put our house up for sale a year ago.  Not that the house would have sold (the market is the pits), just maybe we would have had less to do.   Well it sounds good anyway.  Bill and I are kind of funny about getting our projects done, neither of us could stand listing the house until we finished our projects.  We painted the house indoors and out, put in new shower doors, put up a new chandelier in the dining room, and tiled the kitchen and laundry room/pantry.  Tile is a thing we like to do.  Tile is a project that was easier when we were younger.  The knees just don't work like they used to.  Bill was actually only going to regrout the kitchen tile and then buy matching tile for the Laundry room.  Well that all changed when he decided to use an air chisel to chisel out the grout.  He broke a couple of tiles along with the cracked ones he was going to replace.  They were so easy to pop out with the air chisel --- he decided to retile the whole thing.  I chose a darker tile that would off set the cabinets better.  We were off and running.

Left: This picture should be entitled "this man has way too many tools".  Yes that is Bill removing the old tile floor.
Right:  the new kitchen floor getting its finale washing down.

Sorry for the small size of this issue, with all the home improvement  projects there just hasn't been a lot of extra time.  I will try to do better next issue, but as always my first priority is my customers.  I get those orders out no matter what else is happening in my life.  Our Reno, NV home was listed for sale at the end of March.  Bill went to Las Vegas to get a job and was hired to deal the World Series of Poker held at the Rio Casino.

Happy Fifth Anniversary!!  Janie's Oasis is officially 5 years on line!!!
